There are an abundance of regular low-cost flights between major UK Airports & South-West France: London-Stansted and Bergerac (Ryanair) Southampton and Bergerac (Flybe) Bristol and Bergerac (Flybe) Cardiff and Toulouse (Bmibaby) East Midlands and Toulouse (Bmibaby) The above are just a sample. Additional routes between the Midlands and Bergerac are planned to become operational soon. There are also flights from Nottingham East Midlands to Bordeaux and Toulouse and from Manchester to Bordeaux. Le Grand Moulin is only 10 minutes drive from Bergerac, 1.5 hours drive from Bordeaux and 2 hours drive from Toulouse.

 

BY TRAIN

Regular Eurostar train services run from London-Waterloo to Lille and a TGV (high speed train) from the same station in Lille to Bordeaux (total journey time 9 hrs).

Alternatively, there is a TGV from Lille to Libourne where you can change to a train that takes you directly to Bergerac. There are also connections that take you to Marmande, a forty minute drive away.

We find that the most relaxing start to the holiday is Portsmouth to St Malo, a longer ferry journey but then only a six hour drive through to Le Grand Moulin.
